The Two Popes – Netflix Movie Review

I couldn't take my eyes of the frescoes, the paintings in The Sistine Chapel, the creations of The Masters. I rewind many scenes repeatedly to choose audio or visuals not wanting to divide my attention.

Patch Adams Movie Review

There are people who would strongly disapprove the idea of ‘treating patients with love and friendship’. But as far as I am concerned, I believe that Dr. Patch Adams’ ideas can make a huge difference to the normal “doctor-patient” relationship.

Guilty Netflix Movie Review

America in Delhi.. the Uni, Cafeteria, Dorms, Band, even a scene on the Basketball court. The foul language used, the clothes worn by the students, drug abuse shown are all in the superlative yet true and what's really happening.. Perhaps not inside our colleges but still in the lives of Indian students. The actors, director, writer and cinematographer, the whole team of 'Guilty' has totally pulled it off.

The Boys Review – Amazon Prime Video

Full credit should be given to the makers of this dark political satire for being so blunt and balanced in telling about the business and political culture of the US. This is something that makes me a great fan of Hollywood and European Cinema. Be it the silver screen or the small screen, the storytellers are not afraid, ashamed, or prejudiced in showing the truth about their socio-political landscape irrespective of who or which party is in power at the moment. Indian storytellers surely have a long way to go before they can even think of emulating the Western world’s TV or Cinema.

Mulk Movie Review

Direction and script are befitting and it’s a strictly no-nonsense movie. There is not much music. Mulk movie puts forward some serious questions and points in front of us by how we select between them and us. It does not take sides and still manages us to choose what we see.  Very hard-hitting and sensitive subject, superbly portrayed. A must add in your watch list.

Hasee Toh Phasee Movie Review

Every relationship requires a breathing space as well as mutual respect for each other. But a relationship based on one party's domination over the other will become zestless over time. This is exactly what happens with one of our protagonists. Nikhil is tired of Karishma's frequent break-up threats and wants to live his life on his own terms. But apparently, being a good hearted guy with family values, he is reluctant to ditch her or is afraid of the consequences.  But when Meeta enters his life, his perception changes towards relationships. He learns that what he was thinking as the best option for him has actually become a barrier for him in enjoying his life to the fullest. The same applies to us in our real lives as well. We do not need to surrender our free will to anyone just for the sake of keeping a relationship alive.
