Kabir Singh Movie Review

You laugh, frown and rejoice with the protagonist, Shahid Kapoor as and in Kabir Singh. Shahid is breathtakingly good looking, especially with the flowy locks.

A new age, dark movie. So bold that it had me frowning. So well made that it had me cheering and so exceptional that it had me loving the flawed hero who doesn’t deserve or expect attention. The feminist in me did balk at the heroine, Kiara Advani, being taken for granted but it worked under the guise of med school ragging. I definitely expected a more glamorous lead actress and equally surprised at the subtle outfits and makeup of all the actors, art movie style subtlety.

Supporting cast (dad) Suresh Oberoi, (dadi) Kamini Kaushal, (actress friend) Nikita Dutta, (brother) Arjan Bajwa and (Friend) Soham Majumdar deserve mention.

However, a little disappointed knowing how easily the Indian youth, especially the masses are swayed, as the movie mocks at the institution of marriage and the medical fraternity.

Be warned of explicit language though but not out of context and handled well. A must watch for parents to understand why they should not control their children.

Kabir Singh gets an 8/10 while Shahid a full on 10.
