After seeing and listening to Sanam Re songs I decided to watch it. What followed in 2 hours of Sanam Re’s running is very disappointing. Divya Kumar Khosla has directed Yaariyan earlier and it proved not a very successful venture. Well, this time with Sanam Re a lot expectations were behind her and this time too she has let us down. I am not criticizing Divya’s direction as from technical point of view it is well-directed movie. But, the thing that really makes it a “not to watch” film is its other aspects.
Sanam Re fails in many departments except for one and that is its music. The songs are forever to remember kind and the background score too is classy and appealing. The film has a very weak plot a guy is working in a multinational company in Mumbai suddenly loses his job. He then went on to search a woman who can help him get back his job. He fakes love to her and she becomes serious with him. Then comes a twist when the guy realises that he still love his childhood sweetheart who now denies to recognize him. Eventually, it is being revealed that she is denying because she is suffering from heart disease and to cure that disease she needs to undergo a heart transplant operation. Now, the hero gets to know about this and suddenly vanquishes. In the end, the girl is being shown feeling her heart beats and saying… “no one knows whether it was an accident or he killed himself, but one thing is true that he left his heart beating inside me”
What Went Wrong With Sanam Re?
Any film becomes interesting and watchable if it features a good plot. With Sanam Re this is not the case. It has a very shallow plot and the fact that the actors too have given mediocre performances didn’t do any favor to Sanam Re. Pulkit Samrat, Urvashi Rautela and Yami Gautam they all have looked below par. Urvashi needs to really work hard, if she has to make a name for “acting” in Bollywood. Yami Gautam has been the face of the “Fair & Lovely” for some time now and in this film too she is looking fab. But, the sad part of the industry is that nobody is going to see your face only people want to see some acting skills too. Pulkit is a talented actor but time is running out for him to convert his talent into “substantial performances”.
Sanam Re Rating & Verdict:
I gave only 5 out of 10 to Sanam Re. These 5 stars are the result of some great music and picturesque locations this film offers. After seeing this movie I really want to visit Tanakpur someday. Conclusion, I still guess many girls would love to see this film, so if someone is really willing to see this then we can’t help them… In my humble opinion just download Sanam Re songs and enjoy them as part of your “memorable songs collection”. There’s really no good reason to see this movie unless you are a big fan of Yami Gautam (which I am)…
Every now and then we come across a movie that is not very successful and yet it proves a good stuff to watch. Bewakoofiyaan is one such movie that is not a “commercial hit” neither it was appreciated by masses. But, I found it very good as well as “close to life” movie. Bewakoofiyaan is a modern Indian film that tells about the complex lifestyle of our youth living in big cities and the ups and downs they through it. Mohit (Ayushmann Khurrana) and Mayera (Sonam Kapoor) are in love with each other and they are planning to get married. The only issue is Mayera’s father Mr.V.K. Sehgal ( A High Ranking Government Official). Mohit is expecting a good promotion at job and Mayera asks him to talk to her father about their marriage. One day they go to a picnic where Mohit tells V.K.Sehgal (Rishi Kapoor) that he loves Mayera.
Mr.Sehgal gets angry and soon leave the place with his daughter. Later he tells her daughter that he will not let her marry that “middle class” guy. Mayera also tells him that she will not marry anyone except Mohit.
Now, Mr. Sehgal visits Mohit at his office and gives him an ultimatum whereby he will check his “eligibility” for her daughter and if, Mohit fails in this test he will have to forget Mayera forever. Meanwhile, after getting promoted just a few days ago Mohit loses his job as his company goes through a crisis and fires many employees as part of the austerity measures. Now, Mohit faces a dilemma to pretend to Mr. Sehgal that he is not fired and still works at his office. On the other hand, he also has to help his would-be father-in-law to get a new job (as he is retired from his Govt job and wants to do something for earning money as well as passing his time). Amidst all this Mohit is unable to get a new job and soon ran out of money (as during his hay days he didn’t manage his expenses well and had no substantial savings too). He asks help from Mayera for his expenses and installments. She gladly comes to his rescue and everything is going on track except that Mohit is losing his patience as well as confidence every day he goes through without a job. As a result, after some time their relationship gets strained as Mohit and Mayera get into an argument over his joblessness. After this, they decide to call it off and Mohit sells his car to return Mayera’s money. Mayera leaves for Dubai while Mohit takes up a small job at a cafe. Mr. Sehgal gets hurt seeing this as in his heart he has accepted Mohit as his son-in-law. The climax of Bewakoofiyaan involves how V.K. Sehgal again gets Mayera and Mohit together. While doing so he himself gets a job as a CEO in a company.
My Rating & Verdict of Bewakoofiyaan:
I rated Bewakoofiyaan 9 out of 10, this film has everything a movie lover would love to watch. The only thing that wasn’t good about this film or at least that I didn’t love was its songs. They are okay to listen but not something to remember forever. Bewakoofiyaan is a movie that is very close to today’s reality. It’s a funny romantic drama with some good acting by Rishi Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana and Sonam Kapoor. One a boring weekend Bewakoofiyaan is a perfect Bollywood Masala Film to watch. So, add it to your watchlist and see whenever you want to…!
Thanks for reading this review and stay tuned for many more reviews coming your way!
From somewhere I learnt about this movie and decided to see it and now I am writing a review of it. To be frank I am not at all impressed with this film. It lacked in many departments except “visual representation of sex” between the two lead characters. Killing Me Softly is an erotic thriller that doesn’t appeal at all to me. It is based on the novel of the same name by Nicci French with many changes. The story is okay but the execution is not that great. Now lets discuss about the plot of Killing Me Softly, Alice is an American who works in London and lives with Jake. Her life is very nice and she is happy with all she has, including Jake. One day Alice meets a “MYSTERIOUS” man (Adam) and goes with him to his home (which later turned out his sister’s). They make love there and after that Alice leaves only to come back next day again. She kind of gets fascinated by him and decides to leave Jack for him. Later on Alice and Adam gets married to each other. Things get a big turn when Alice starts getting letters from a stranger with weird things related to Adam.
Out of fear as wells as curiosity Alice tires to investigate about those letters only to find out that Adam has a “secret” past that involves many women. The rest is something you must find yourself if you decide to watch Killing Me Softly. The film ends when Alice finds out that Deborah (Adam’s sister) hates any woman who comes close to his brother because they had an “incestuous” relationship when they were young.
My Verdict & Rating of Killing Me Softly:
I rated Killing me softly 5/10. The reason is I didn’t like the story although the acting is good and Joseph Fiennes and Heather Graham have performed well. One “appreciable” aspect of Killing Me Softly was its background score that I thoroughly enjoyed. I am embedding the soundtrack playlist below my review for you all to enjoy and I am sure you will love it. Overall, I would suggest to avoid this film unless you don’t have anything better than this. But, on the other hand giving the fact that this is not a typical erotic thriller there is a chance that many people might like it too much. Because it has some good quality acting by the lead stars as well as some heart pounding steamy scenes. Now the ball is in your court to decide….! See you all till my next review.

Wrong No Movie Review:
Pakistani Cinema is going through a “reviving phase” over the past couple of years and Wrong No is the product of this ongoing process. Yasir Nawaz has directed this film in a nice way and it proves out to be an absolute entertainer for the audience. Wrong No has a very simple and common storyline, but still with some great acting, nice music and lots of humor filled dialogues this film appeals to your senses. Wrong No tells the story of a guy called Salman (Nicknamed Sallu) (Danish Taimoor) whose aim in life is to avoid his family profession i.e. becoming a butcher and becoming a big movie star. One day Sallu gets an ultimatum from his father Haji Abba (Javed Shaikh) that if he fails to do something on his own in one month then he will have to sit with his brothers and father in the butcher market. After this Sallu starts planning to evade this situation where he will have to obey his father.
And finally, while watching News he gets a “life altering” opportunity. He learns about a nawab’s grandson who is coming to Karachi for the first time in his life. The catch in this news was that the face of that royal heir was exactly same as Sallu’s. After this Sallu makes an impeccable plan to “switch” his place with that royal guy named Shehryar. From here the movie becomes more interesting when Shehryar is treated like Sallu while Sallu enjoys the luxurious life of a nawab. Meanwhile, there are 3 guys who have a huge loan to pay to a gangster and their only way out is kidnapping Shehryar and asking his grandfather a huge ransom. The twist comes when the gangster, Shera himself with his gang decides to kidnap Shehryar. The rest you guys needs to see yourself…I am not killing the fun for you..!
My Rating & Verdict of Wrong No:
I rated Wrong No 9/10. The reason is obvious, Wrong No is an entertaining and time pass movie that does fine in all departments. There’s no “novelty” in the story, but still Wrong No keeps you stuck on your sofas for over 2 hours. The acting by the whole cast is of not top quality, but not too bad either. One important thing that I would love to mention about Wrong No, is presence of many humorous lines that a cinema lover will definitely enjoy. Danish Taimoor, Javed Shaikh, Janita Asma, Sohai Ali Abro as well as Danish Nawaz all have done a decent job in Wrong No. The music of this film is good and refreshing I thoroughly enjoyed it while watching the movie.
Conclusion – There’s no harm in watching Wrong No, if you love comedy stuff and nonsense humor..!
