Pataakha – Movie Review
Light and clean Hindi movie with a strong and funny theme.
Vishal Bhardwaj yet again moves away from the dark. Hilarious and witty, sisters Radhika Madan and Sanya Malhotra are literally at each other’s throat. The fine line between their rivalry is father Vijay Raaz. Sunil Grover as the Narad though a no gooder has solutions and ends up balancing the sisters fights as also constantly draws a parallel to the Indo-Pak political situation. Namit Das and Abhishek Duhan as brothers and husbands to the two sisters add the right balance to Pataakha movie.
The sisters share more than just the beedis and chores. They have their own dreams too. Small town ways and the dialect has you smelling the dhool mitti of the rural Rajasthan.
The background score and music is good and many scenes in the dark are a little typical of Vishal. Perfect for home viewing and entertaining enough not to miss the popcorn too.
