Based in Indiana, in 1983, a teen Will disappears and the search for him starts by his best friend Mike and his other friends that lead them to a top secret experiment in the Hawkins Lab, where they meet a strange little girl in the woods.
Stranger Things is a nostalgia fest of synthesized soundtrack and Spielberg kids on a Sci-Fi adventure in their backyard. If you want to watch something entertaining and powerful, this is the show for you. A great direction and cast make this love letter to the 1980s a wonderful series to watch. In fact, many sites have named Stranger Things in the list of Best Netflix Original shows.
I can only recommend everyone, even those not fans of the genre, to support this great creation. This is astoundingly efficient storytelling, eight hours that pass in a blink on an eye, with even minor characters getting sharp dialogue, dark humor, or moments of pathos.
I went into this show with quite low expectation but was very pleasantly surprised. It manages to be taut, dark, and scary whilst also being real, goofy and funny, which is no small achievement. The young cast are a true credit, indicating some excellent direction.
Stranger Things – Season 1 ends with enough tentacles inching forward to trap you in another season.
Here, I sign off. Do check out my Review of Season 2 soon…
