To begin with I binge-watched this series, it’s full of travel, fashion, feminism, comedy, and romance- just what I needed to escape this pandemic! I love travelling so just the trailer was so attractive and I knew I had to see this show. All the scenes in this series are just so amazing you get to see such beautiful locations of Paris.

The characters are so nice and relatable. I like that they chose diverse characters such as Mindy who is just great. Gabriel is cute. Her co-workers are so supportive. Above all Emily is just wonderful. I also like how Emily is not a fashion designer (which would be the typical job choice for this genre) but she works in marketing. Every time there is a problem, Emily knows how to fix it.

On a more serious note, it does not show Paris in its true colors. But this show is for those who dream of living in Paris or seeing the city at least once in their lifetime.

Emily does not speak French, but she had no time to learn as it was an unexpected option she had to choose. But the small phrases she picks up through her Rosetta Stone, friends, French lessons are what every person who does not know French and are in France goes through, all the time!

The clothes, the food, the streets, the buildings, haute couture, description of exquisite perfumes – have truly been a feast for the senses and I, as an audience, revelled in them!!

Overall, I liked the show because it immediately transports you into a lovely world of love and dreams and who does not want a little magic in these dreadful times? There are some practical questions – is Emily’s apartment really a chambre-de-bon, how does she manage to wear such expensive clothes, how do you transform into Audrey Hepburn overnight, can a boss be so rude to your face? Well, it’s a show so some questions remain unanswered right?

So, if you want to take a chill pill, and bask in some comfy drama, with oodles of emotions on your couch, please watch Emily in Paris!!!
