What a beautiful, beautiful web series. Netflix’s Firefly Lane web series is all about Tully (Katherine Heigl) and Kate (Sarah Chalke), best friends since high school, and the highs and lows of their lives through the decades.
I have always loved Katherine Heigl and having her as one of the lead actors in the show was icing on the cake for me. Sarah Chalke as the other lead has complimented her perfectly. Katherine fits well as the confident, self absorbed, successful journalist and Sarah is wonderful as her nerdy yet feisty best friend. I also loved both the characters who play young Tully (Alissa Skovbye) and Kate (Roan Curtis).
Enjoy watching Firefly Lane on Netflix Now!
In the beginning you feel Tully is the star of the show given her loud character but gradually you realize Kate is the heart and soul of the story.
Ben Lawson as Johnny is the devoted husband for the most part and oh! so handsome. I wish he was more than a third wheel to the Kate and Tully relationship. Marah as Kate’s daughter also doesn’t have much to do as the focal point is the friendship between Firefly Lane girls and people who contributed towards that relationship. The last episode is the ideal finale… With Kate, Tully, Margie, and Cloud together at the end, like they were at the beginning, although more accepting of each other and themselves. Don’t miss it if you haven’t watched it already. My only regret is not reading the book before, it would have been an amazing read.
