The Wolf Of Wall Street (Strip Club Edition)
Hustlers is basically, The Wolf Of Wall Street multiplied by Badmaash Company, a corny Indian crime comedy film. Hustlers has the same style and tone, and basically even the same biographical touch like The Wolf Of Wall Street and then, the bonding of friends and all of Badmaash Company. The whole idea is bold but the lackluster writing, filmy, and highly fabricated environment is what prevents it from being gold. The whole showcase of this strip club and its employees who are in the lead role of this movie are just shown in the most.
It is hard to even tell, it is like this is some type of “PG-Rated R shit”, it feels goofy, childish at times, and really shallow as well. The movie looks like it is directed by some 14-years-old immature edgy teen, who thinks that strip clubs are just bold and fun, and we need a movie on it. The more mature exploration of these women while they were doing the dirty work would have been far better and far more effective to us all.
Once again, Hustlers proved to me why a better and profound director is the key for saving a typical story as well. The Wolf Of Wall Street with “basic every day’s biography story” is a great movie because of its marvelous direction, screenplay, and execution of its most scenes, but unfortunately this movie is like a curse of being a shit by default. I think maybe even Lorene Scafaria, the director knew that her movie is just a feminist shit for people, and it was just her cheap intention.
The story of this movie is the same shit of people desiring or wanting and then, just earning cash in an illegal way possible. The story could have been shown brilliantly with a good chunk of maturity and some creative writing which this movie requires a lot. The whole idea of this movie was something which is really profound in reality, but the realism is what sadly, they dumped in the script. They have shown just your simple friendship bonding and that’s it! And, it is shown in the most typical way as it always is shown.
This Jennifer Lopez’s performance which is considered her best is maybe the only thing in this movie which is just good at best. Hustlers is something which is not worthy of your free time, unless you are in big need of sexy dance of Lopez or just are die-hard Wolf of the Wall Street fan and if you only do require something with that touch (I will suggest you to re watch the gold). It is a really bad movie is all I can say.
Hustlers gets 3 out of 10.
