Capernaum movie is permeated with common dilemmas, accompanied with some cultural details of the region it is set in. But without seeming stereotyped. It’s a beautiful, honest, and important film on the socio-economic conditions of Lebanon by Nadine Labaki.
I am rating this movie 7/10. There are frightening moments and decent emotional scenes, but the overall experience of Velvet Buzzsaw movie is nothing more than what can be described as “just above average”. I seriously believe that not telling more about the Vetril Dease’s spirit/ghost in the movie was a big mistake that pulled the film down a few notches.
I am rating this film 7 out of 10 because of its promising but poorly acted and executed story-line that is somehow saved by an unexpected climax-something that you too will love at the end. So, I would suggest to go for it on a lazy afternoon as it is only one and a half hours affair.
